Elysium (Guest House)

The original owners of this 1.44 acre site wanted to create a home where they could live in part with privacy and have guests reside in the other part without necessarily seeing one another. They created the two bedroom two bath guest house with pool to be an income producing vacation villa rental part of the year and they locked up their personal effects into the main house and traveled and/or worked abroad. These wise owners first built the guest house and pool and then lived there while overseeing the construction of the two bed two bath main house with carport. Their architect, Kate Acland, created a medley of both Caribbean and Mediterranean styles in the structures which aesthetically blend into an elegant indoor/outdoor beach side villa.

Both independent houses are complete, each with own laundry room, private parking and private shaded patios while sharing one pool nearest the guest house. Their serene views overlook the white sandy shores of both the distant Guana Island and Little Bay Beach below which is only a two minutes walk away. A decorative shell sculpture adorns each of the primary archways in both homes and the tridacna shell sinks are used as face basins in the newly custom-built bathroom cabinets. A banana frond relief over the cabinets in the kitchen all serve to compliment this special gem and seaside island treasure. Each subsequent owner of this home have kept it well maintained as the gardens matured and the hillside homes developed. One of the best features often commented on by visitors to the estate are it convenient access to the airport and romantic private beach access below, not to forget the beautifully manicured gardens adorned with a wide variety of tropical flowers and fruit trees.
