Mango Manor

Located high above the white sand beaches of Cane Garden Bay and the aquamarine waters of the Atlantic Ocean, Mango Manor is the ideal getaway providing the ultimate in luxury vacations.

 

The estate is situated in two acres of one of the premier residential areas of Tortola, ideally located in the centre of the island with the beaches of the North Shore and the shops and businesses of Road Town all within easy reach. With 12,000 square feet of living space the two estate houses accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 bedroom suites, each designed for maximum privacy and optimum views.

 

A sweeping carriage driveway leads to the entrance of the house. Solid mahogany double doors open to reveal an impressive entry with immediate views of the ocean beyond. A large 18-armed chandelier hangs above the marble floors and the walls and ceiling are hand-painted with frescoes. Soaring polished Venetian plaster columned archways lead into the sublime Great Room. This has vaulted cypress ceilings and Italian limestone floors. The Colonial Caribbean styled furnishings bring together textures such as fine-grained hardwoods and lattice-weave rattan, creating a mood that is quietly elegant without sacrificing comfort.

 

The dining room is a few steps away and has doors opening onto the spacious veranda. The dining room seats 8 and there is a further dining table seating 10 on the veranda, which, covered from the sun and cooled by tropical breezes, provides the perfect gathering place for guests – a card table, swing chairs, an array of comfortable seating and a hammock enable relaxation with magnificent views of an ever-changing panorama of water, light and colour.

 

The gourmet kitchen is stocked with state-of-the-art appliances. Mango Manor’s personal Chef prepares all meals to the highest international standard. The kitchen is also designed to prepare Kosher dining as required.

 

The entire house is air-conditioned and the Media Room on the main level provides a cool and comfortable area for viewing the large-screen TV with Cable channels and a large selection of DVDs or VCRs for all ages.

 

From the main entrance foyer and on the upper level of the main house, the Master suite evokes all the romance of a castle turret – set against a Caribbean backdrop. The room is semi-circular and surrounded by arched windows. The four poster king-size bed is surmounted by 20 ft cypress ceilings. Doors lead to the ocean-side terrace and also onto a private garden with 40 ft waterfall.

 

The en suite bath features a travertine surrounded whirlpool tub and large double shower. The Manor’s Salvatore Ferragamo amenities, in this and every other bath, ensure luxurious bathing. A separate half bath and walk-in closet complete the Master Suite.

 

On the middle level is the Palm Suite – a calm, cool and beautifully appointed room with a king-sized bed, TV, air-conditioning, en suite double shower and double closet. Mahogany doors lead to the pool terrace.

 

Also on this level is the Ixora suite, again spacious and tastefully furnished with king-size bed, TV, air conditioning, double closet and en-suite bath.

Separating the two suites is a well appointed Games room with full-size pool table.

 

On the lower level is the spacious exercise studio with free weights, stairmaster, weight machine and yoga mats. Jordan, the delightful concierge and stewardess is also a yoga leader and qualified masseuse – she maintains that a massage in the perfect setting of the Manor’s estate ground, is the ultimate form of relaxation.

 

Separated from the main house is the Guest House – this is reached by a gently curved wooden bridge and has its own open plan great room with kitchen and dining area and a ‘Juliet’ balcony. A further dining area is situated at the entrance with breathtaking views across the bay. The guest house has two further King-size suites. The Oasis suite is generously proportioned, accented by cool greens and crisp whites and has a private deck overlooking Cane Garden Bay, Jost van Dyke and with views of St Thomas. The suite has its own double shower room, double vanity and large closet.

 

The Soleil Suite has a vaulted beamed ceiling of cypress and a four poster king size bed. Private limestone double shower and double vanity and with its own private terrace.

 

One of the highlights of the villa is the swimming pool terrace with a glorious vista towards the far islands. The infinity pool in dark marble is 36 ft wide, heated and has a fun slide. There is also a spectacular 12 person stone-surround spa where one may relax surrounded by nature and tropical plants.

 

The estate’s two acres are beautifully landscaped and maintained, with vividly coloured tropical plants, fruit trees, coconut palms and romantic enclaves. Water features are a refreshing element and include a 40 ft waterfall and fountain and a fish pond.
